I’m taking part in The May 50K. I will be taking on 50km throughout May and leaving my limits behind to raise funds for life-changing research into multiple sclerosis, better access to treatments and to support people living with MS in Ireland!

There are over 10,000 people in Ireland living with multiple sclerosis. At the MS International Federation and MS Ireland, it’s our mission to leave MS where it belongs, behind us.

First Day!

First day done! ✅
Did 4.3km and learned not to listen to audiobooks when walking near water cause I almost walked off the pontoon I was too engrossed in the story 🙈

Introduction

Hi everyone,
For anyone who doesn’t know, my husband, Daniel, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis last year. He lost sight in his left eye and spent ten days in the hospital undergoing procedures to figure out what was wrong. An MRI eventually showed lesions on his brain and spine, which led to his diagnosis.
He was diagnosed on 25th April, 3 days before our first wedding anniversary. So, this year to kick off the start of our third year of marriage I've signed up for The May 50K and will be walking 50km during the month to raise funds for research into MS and access to treatments.
MS Ireland is teaming up with the MS International Federation, so the money raised will be shared to fund local and international projects. In Ireland, 70% of the money raised will go to MS Ireland projects and 30% will help fund life-changing research and access to treatment projects worldwide.
In the past year, we’ve seen the incredible work that MS Ireland does and the support/information that they provide. It was a scary time, but their resources did wonders to ease our worries and concerns.
I know things are tough right now and the cost of living is high, so there's absolutely no pressure to donate - even sharing this can make a big difference in spreading the word!
